I do not know any mantra, yantra, or even the process of worship
I do not know how to invoke you through meditation, nor through praising your glories
I do not know the mudras or gestures, and nor do I know how to lament
O Mother, I only know to seek refuge in you, because you alone can eliminate all afflictions.

  • Vidherajnaanena dravinavirahenaalasatayaa,
    Vidheyaashakyatvaattava charanayoryaa chyutirabhut |
    Tadetat kshantavyam janani sakaloddhaarini shive,

Due to ignorance of proper conduct, and lack of wealth, and also due to laziness,
I am unable to perform my prescribed duties, and unable to serve your feet
please forgive these weaknesses, O Mother, you are the savior of all
Because a bad son can be born but a bad mother can never be born. Therefore, even if a child becomes ungrateful, a mother’s love for the child can never diminish.

  • Pruthivyaam putraaste janani bahavah santi saralaah,
Param teshaam madhye viralataraloham tava sutah |
Madiyoyam tyaagah samuchitamidam no tava shive,
Kuputro jaayeta kvachidapi kumaataa na bhavati || 3 ||

O Mother, On this Earth, there are many noble sons of yours,
Among them, I am the rare son of yours who is somewhat wayward and restless.
O Shiva’s consort, for this reason alone, please don’t abandon me.
Because, even if a child becomes ungrateful, a mother’s love for the child can never diminish.

  • Jaganmaatarmaatastava charanasevaa na rachitaa,

Nor have I offered any wealth or possessions to you.
Yet, you bestow upon me your motherly love and affection,
Because, even if a child becomes ungrateful, a mother’s love for the child can never diminish.

  • Parityaktvaa devaan vividhavidhisevaakulatayaa,

Because In my youth, I may have worshipped more than 85 Gods with various ritualistic procedures but without any result.

One syllable of your mantra can transform a chandal (who talks in a filthy language) into a sweet talker. Or a poor and miserable person may become fearless and forever becomes wealthy.
O Mata Aparna, if this kind of result can come when the sound of one syllable of your mantra reaches the ear, what can happen when people chant your mantra japa (continuous chanting) of your holy name?

  • Chitaabhasmaalepo garalamashanam dikpatadharo,
    Jataadhaari kanthe bhujagapatihaari pashupatih |

But He is called the lord of all beings (Pashupati).
Also, although holding a skull in his hand, he is worshiped as the Lord of Beings (Bhutesh) and has been given the title of Lord of the Universe. O mother Bhavani, all this was possible only because of your marriage with him.
